IIRC, in the Martin Bashir interview from 2003, Jackson claimed Jackson was born via a surrogate and that she was a black woman.

It’s not that simple. Nature also lightened his skin. The doctor who performed the autopsy on Jackson confirmed that he had the skin disease vitiglio.

It IS an odd and paradoxical relationship there.
Michael Jackson proclaimed loudly and often that the children were his, biologically.
And yet, hardly anyone believes it wholeheartedly.
The two older kids look nothing like him.
And yet, the older boy has vitiligo, not a terribly common skin discoloration problem that Michael Jackson had.
The whole marriage to wife #2 seemed staged and strange, it looked like some sort of a paid surrogate/wife and the whole situation was cooked up so that Michael Jackson could get himself some kids. Debbie Rowe has said something to that effect herself (though she’s never copped to the older two kids not being his, biologically.)
And yet, if that was REALLY his motivation, he didn’t feel the need to be married to the younger son’s biological mother.
I have to admit, though it may be absolutely none of my business, and has no importance whatsoever in the grand scheme of things, this question has stumped me for years.
I suppose the answer is probably that they are his, biologically, and they just got very little of Michael Jackson’s looks. The kids do look very slightly biracial. And Michael Jackson’s dad was biracial himself, I seem to recall, with blue eyes. So maybe they just had an unusual genetic outcome there. And Michael Jackson just gave us one last thing to QQ wonder about.
