How about Amy Klobuchar, the less-famous senator from Minnesota?
She and I went to college together! Same year! I never held her head while she was drunkenly retching into a toilet. I never needed to talk her down from a bad acid experience. I never banged her, either. That fshe didn’t associate with me, a drug-addled hippie/Wobbly studying obscure 19th century literature and art that often bordered on the pornographic, shows that she is clearly a person of sterling merit and high moral acumen.
I was just going to post the same name here (she’s my senator). She’s popular, thoughtful, and productive. She is 55 years old so getting up there based on the OP.
That depends on what Tammy Duckworth would actually want to say if she was put in that position. The last time Duckworth spoke on Iraq in a high profile situation, she essentially endorsed the President’s “As they stand up, we’ll stand down” strategy in different words:
I’ve never known Duckworth to be a dove. She seems firmly in the Hillary Clinton hawk camp.
