I retired at 55, owing a house and with secured retirement income from pensions, tax-efficient savings and Premium Bonds.
I didn’t ‘race through life chasing money’ (I never took a promotion) and I had some great jobs along the way (teaching chess, roleplaying and computer games for example.)
I didn’t need to pray or scheme.
Sounds like someone graduated this spring and still hasn’t found a job in his field. It is tempting to project such failure onto the global condition, and young persons have, as a wise man once said, all the historical perspective of ground squirrels.

I’ve worked for nearly 20 years, I am retired at less than the age of 40, my house isn’t just paid off, my car isn’t just one - its a collection. But these are just bread crumbs compared to what matters to me. I felt compelled to point that crap out because all you’ve done is assumed things on an emotional level. I am not a child nor half a foot in the grave. I see life, I embrace it, and I cherish it.
I have a family, I worked only so I can spend more time with them than 40+ hours a week away from them.

I see this as a wonderful time for humanity. The recent past we went through a period of dirty advancement, selfish desires and greed raped the earth and enslaved the masses, causing humanity to live it it’s own filth. On a different level we were like small children who are still in diapers, but shouldn’t be anymore but wouldn’t learn, and we were left in our own filth to learn that way instead. Also we formed small groups and were hating of outsiders, hating differences in cultures and appearances. At this time we were divided from Mother Earth (as a living spirit), along with our guiding angels, they stepped back, a degree of separation between her and us was put into place and most of us lived in a very human centric environment. This was the reason for the greed, we were left on our own.
This is coming to it’s end and we are reconnecting with each other and our Mother. We are learning ways to have advancement in harmony with her and each other, we are learning respect for each other as well and far more tolerant of differences then we once were. We are being rapidly advanced now technologically, because in many ways through the technology gifted to us we are overcoming our differences, basically overcoming what the ‘sons of God’ did with the Tower of Babbel’ this because the time is right for us, we have learned and are learning to get along and play nicely with the other children of the earth and no longer need to be ‘sent to our separate rooms’.
The future for us to me is clear, we are the child of Mother Earth, the planet itself is her womb, and she will deliver us, we will become starborn, we will leave the womb one day to find many new children of the stars and become a member of that greater society. The barriers right now to intersteller travel is the barrier of the womb to the child, it will end, and a new chapter of humanity will start, a merging with something much greater.
