who would win if current pop stars went on American Idol?

This could really be alot of discussions, but it occurs to me that most of our pop stars aren’t as talented as some of the people on A. I.
Christina Aguilera, well, she can sing
But Brittney Spears?
Any of the N’sync boys?
Gwen stefani?
J-Lo? (i personally think she wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell)

Would Bono from U2 make it past the audition?
What about Elton John?
Steven Tyler?
Paul McCartney?
I Think that no artist of substance could actually come from the show, but maybe that’s another discussion.

I really think Paula Abdul has no business being a judge, given the amount of reverb they had to add to her records to make it sound like she could sing.

The other two guys can’t sing either. Paula Abdul’s a judge because she’s a producer.

I’d guess your current winner among pop stars would be Toni Braxton.

The two names that immediately came to mind were Celine Dion and Christina Aguilara. I think they have tremendous voices and would clean house.

As far as the judges are concerned, they both have intimate knowledge of the music industry - of course they have business being judges. Most sportswriters have never been a professional athlete…

I say Christina Agularia and Mariah Carrey. I think they are both a little trampy, but they have amazing voices.

I think Pink would do well too…

oh, by “they both”, I meant to include Paula Abdul with the two others.

I would think Mariah Carey would be about the only pop star with a chance of winning. I can think of a number of other pop stars with the “right voice,” but considering American Idol’s borderline obsession with getting the “right look” too, they would fail too.

I thought it would be funny if someone like Bob Dylan or Johnny Cash tried out for the show. I wonder how jerky Simon would be at them and their “wrong voices”?
