Who would you bring back?

If you could bring someone back from the dead and give them another chance at life, who would you choose? Whether it be a **friend, family member, actor, musician, comedian, historical figure etc. **

I would chose Chris Farley. For those of you who don’t know, he was an actor/comedian on Saturday Night Live and was also in a few movies. He made me laugh every time I saw him and from what people said about him, he was a very kind and genuine human being. I believe he died in 1997 of a drug overdose.

John Lennon. His contributions to the world were undeniably significant and, more importantly to me, the circumstances of his death were unfair and worthy of a do-over.

It won’t mean anything to y’all; my choice would be my stepmom. She held the since scattered family together, and made us all laugh and enjoy each other.

JFK. I’m very curious about how he’d be remembered in history had he had the opportunity to live a full life. Doris Kearns Goodwin I’m not but I believe had he not been assisinated, we’d have a very different impression of him, not to mention of his family’s perpetually tragic contributions.

JFK, for shutting down Vietnam and making huge contributions to the exploration of space.

for attempting to shut down Vietnam

Funny you should mention SNL, because when I saw the thread title, I immediately thought of Phil Hartman - murdered by his wife in the prime of his career, if I remember correctly. He was one funny guy.

In the historical figure category, I’m thinking Martin Luther King, Jr.

I’d have to go with a bright, cute girl in my high school who died suddenly (of an asthma attack of all things) before her 17th birthday. Her firends have continued to wonder what she would have made of her life.

Me, after I die.

Seriously, I think my grandfather. He died before I was born, but he seemed like an amazing man.

George Orwell. I’d love to see his take on today’s world.

My grandma. I miss her a lot. I would make her take her insulin shots and keep her away from the donuts and soda pop this time around. And give her even more hugs.

Well, you need to re-read your history, and yes I saw your second post. Nixon shut down Vietnam.

I would bring back Einstein or Richard Feynman. Well, Turing would also make the list. Out of those three Feynman would be my pick. All of them should be considered as great thinkers but I think Feynman would contribute the most in todays world.

**Stevie Ray Vaughn

For me, it’s kind of a tie between Mohandas Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mozart. Gershwin. Two (is that against the OP’s rule?) who were cut off way too young (both under forty), and who would have contributed much more if they had had the chance.

Oh, I forgot Capt. Kirk - he died in the last movie.

“And Schubert. Especially Schubert.”

“Why Schubert?”

“So he could finish his symphony!”

Well, since I haven’t lost any loved ones (Thank God), I might bring back Dian Fossey. (sp?) She seemed neat. Or maybe Julius Caesar…he’d be pretty well set on the lecture circuit.

Or, if it doesn’t have to be a human, I can think of three family dogs that I wish were still around…Make that four or five, actually.

Well, likewise, Feynman was what came to mind first when I saw this thread title. But on second thought, how sacrilegious would it be to say “Jesus”?

Jesus is already coming back
