Lately, when opening the TV Guide website, I’m greeted by Carl Weathers plugging a new law talkin’ guy show- “Chicago Justice”. Sez Weathers: “In Chicago, justice always wins”. WTF? I don’t think it’s a comedy, but with a line like that, who knows?
Isn’t this a Dick Wolf show? The guy behind Law and Order. He’s now making a bunch of Chicago shows.
It could be worse; is Weather’s character named Justice?
Maybe David Justice has come back and the Atlanta Braves have yet to lose at Guarantee Rate or Wrigley Field.
P.S. I had to look up the other baseball stadium in Chicago. Ya’ll should be ashamed.
Is that the one they call “The G Spot”?
I never have liked sponsorship so blatant it makes something look dumb. We used to have Colonial Stadium, which I thought sounded quite regal until I found out it was named for Colonial State Bank. It was then the Telstra Dome and currently it’s Etihad Stadium. Ugh.
Slightly better than when my local Operatic Society had to change their building to Trustbank Theatre. It’s now back to being the Mayfair, thankfully.
Anyhoo, apologise for the hijack. As you were.
Its not crap, it’s realistic. What prosecutor in a major city, or any city, wouldn’t say that after a court victory or even before it if they’re confident of winning. It’s boosting your own office and your own chances for higher office in the future. In short it’s typical rhetoric for the press.
I’m sure I heard a joke 20 years ago about paid naming rights in which that was the punch line.
I came in here to say Shonda Rhimes, but I see you’re talking about the ‘chicago’ shows, which are just as bad, if not worse. Sorry. Carry on.
Yep. Along with the logo with the downward pointing arrow, adding insult to injury (of Sox fans and anyone with a shred of civic and baseball pride.) The Sox wanted them to change it, but Guaranteed Rate said nope. I’m a Cubs fan, and it’ll always be “Sox Park” or “(the New) Comiskey” to me.
I say call it what you want. Hereabouts the Bruins and Celtics used to play at the Boston Garden. Then it was the Shawmut Center. Then the Fleet Center. Now TD Garden. Ask anyone where they’re going for the game and the answer will be “Boston Garden.”
