There’s, like, a hundred of us. Just keep it to vague questions about the law, nothing that would require specific legal advice. Answering those can get us in lots of trouble.
I humbly offer my expertise in Museums. (As if that’s a topic which pops up all the time.
I can hold my own fairly well in anything to do with small, exotic animals. If I don’t have the answer, my boss probably does or I can check the reference books.
I’m also resonably knowledgeable about very early movies and classic Hollywood, although a lot of my reference books are still buried somewhere after the last move.
The only problem is that Mr zoogirl is always fooling around and crashing the computer, so I’m sometimes not around for a while. If anyone has an urgent situation with an animal, don’t wait for me. Call a vet or your local, zoo/wildlife control. That’s probably the best idea if your dealing with a live animal anyway. I’m always up for questions, though.
I’m general, although I know comics. Not as well as Fenris, though.

But really now, we’ve a complement that includes many from the specialties named above beyond the names listed, and I’d encourage all to feel that we want your input. If you know something relevant about utilization of coal energy, throw it in without waiting or fearing Anthracite’s ultimate contribution. I speak for nobody but myself, but I’d guess that Anth or Johnny would really rather hear, and learn about, something they don’t yet know than occupy a position of pompous pilate of a discipline.
Myself, I’d prefer to learn. I see some goofy shit posted about the energy markets, and I try to post educational stuff in response. Anyway, I’m still with y’all.

And I have to agree with Ringo: I like seeing others answer bird questions (and especially West Nile questions). It gives me a gauge on how well we get information out there. It’s great to see an answer already given. I might pipe up to give additional information but I also learn from other dopers. (Just learned something this weekend about Black Phoebes nudged a paradigm.)
