So, I’m watching a commercial for this flashlight and the voice over makes the claim
That’s amazing! Electromagnetic induction? You don’t say, discovered by Faraday? What other things is he going to invent using this principle? Can you imagine what the world will be like when things like this become common place?
Reminds me of the time I invented the transformer, about 2 minutes before the instructor tells us that one practical application of what we have been learning is called a transformer. :smack:
The Principal works well in reverse, too.
I once went into a Radio Shack and asked the sales specialist for a ‘portable photon emitter’. I was told Radio Shack carries no such device.
Since I actually did need a flashlight, I elucidated.
I thought inductively charged flashlights are still a relatively rare product on the market. Mainly due to the horrible efficiencies neccessitating lots of shaking for little light.
I got one for Christmas. To sum it up: meh. The lack of batteries and the LED light are neat, but it’s not especially bright and, if I recall correctly, it only lasts for about five minutes. It’ll get you to the nearest battery-operated flashlight, I guess.
Must be made by the same company that makes that laser leveler that uses refractive lens technology!
