A long time ago I submitted a picture of my cat Abby to the Cat Of The Day website. I checked the site daily to see if she made it. I waited, kept checking back, and finally I just started checking it once every few weeks or so. They were supposed to email me if she made it, so I stopped checking all the time.
Today I was surfing the site, and looking back on the past months’ cats, I was surprised to see that Abby had made Cat Of The Day on July 28th!
I am so proud of her, if you check that site ignore the mindless drivel (although it’s true) I wrote about her, I wanted to get her picture out there because she is, of course, the cutest cat in the WORLD! She’s going to get a big head over this…

What a little pooter-butt! Lover her! She looks a lot like the kitty I left at home with my fam, except he’s a skinny old boy. But he’s still all burmese looking, like Abby!
Just had to say that you have a beautiful cat - and that if I put a new name on that picture, it would almost perfectly pass for one of our three. Ours is “Winston”, a rescued feral cat with a fabulous and friendly personality; he has the same eyes, same white bow tie, same luxurious black fur, even the same whiskers; only his head (and nose) is slightly broader. Does yours have a tiny thatch of white hairs on his belly? Amazing that someone else could have a cat as pretty - almost! - as ours!
Seriously, I enjoy the COTD website and count on it for an almost-daily little uplift. Nothing like a cute cat to boost your spirits even on a bad day. (Did you ever see the New Yorker cartoon where a serious-looking man in a suit is perusing a shelf of books in a library or bookstore, and among the labels of “History”, “Biography”, etc, there is a label on one shelf that says “Cute Cats”? The man has a book in his hands that he has just taken from that area and he is smiling broadly.) I’ve never heard from anyone who had their pet posted (brush with greatness?). I’ve thought of submitting one of our beauties (with the appropriate drivel) - how long was it between your submission and the posting? And please…babble freely about our wonderful cat children; it’s only fitting.

A came across a cute site a while back, of cats sitting on top of photo scanners. It was called The Cat Scan Site, or something close to that. I don’t have a link though.

Cygnus, yes she does have white on her belly, also a few stray white hairs on her forehead (like one hair) and on her back. It took 6 months - I sent her picture in on Jan. 28th and she was Cat Of The Day on July 28th.
But then again all cats are handsome.
Old or young, no matter what colour, I wish humans could be that way.
