Whooo!! Phish Tickets!!! Whooo!!

:::::sugaree is hyperventilating with joy:::::

Phish is kicking off their reunion with a brief tour, New Year’s Eve at Madison Square Garden and 3 shows at Hampton, VA. Mr. sugaree and I reserved our NYC hotel room the day we heard about the show, but we didn’t get mail-order lottery tickets. Then, the Friday before last, when they went on sale on Ticketmaster, NYE sold out in fifteen minutes. The next day, the Hampton shows sold out in about twenty minutes. We lost out.

The couple who picked their wedding date so that they could honeymoon at the 2000 Deer Creek show, the couple who plans to name their firstborn son Trey (really. we do.) didn’t get reunion tickets.

Meanwhile, the day of the sale, the dastardly scalpers started putting their wins up on e-bay. Prices started climbing past $1000 a pair. The hate mail started. e-bay made all the auctions private- you couldn’t see any of the bids or comments.

Today I was balancing out our finances when I noticed a charge for $116.50. From Ticketmaster. No. Yes. Can it be?

It is. We did get tickets for Saturday, January 4, at Hampton. We never got the confirmation number, presumably because the rush for tickets disrupted Ticketmaster’s website. But the tickets are on their way.

Isn’t the world a wonderful place to be?

I’ve only seen Phish once, and that was 9 years ago. I’d pay a lot to see them again.

I’m envious and I hope you enjoy the hell out of the show.

Wow! I’m wicked jealous, but very happy for you!! I’ve seen them I don’t know how many times, but each time was great.

We just got the “Sharin’ in the Groove” CD, and are enjoying it a bunch.

Have fun:D

Phish really got me into “the scene”, and though they don’t entertain me as much as they used to, I’m really pissed about not being able to see them in my backyard (hampton). At the same time, I refuse to to pay those prices to see them. Last time I looked, 2 tix for each of the 3 days of hampton are selling for around $2000. What’s even worse is that there will be folks in the parking lot who will obviously just be there to sell tickets for exorbident prices. Don’t be surprised when you see news stories about them getting “robbed” of their tickets and beaten*.

*this is not a threat, but something I am very certain will happen when people see who’s selling the tickets. If you’ve been there, you know
