Whooooo.... I have digital cable now!

295 channels. Wow. I spent the better part of two warm, sunny days in my house, on my couch, getting pizza and chinese delivered while I learned about my new cable. Sure, I could have read the thick manual, but I wanted hands on fun.
I’ve watched the 1975 World Series, the top 100 videos of all time, biographies on people I’ve never heard of, and every battle of the civil war. I’ve seen a local band on one of the music stations, and watched backyard wrestling from my old hometown.
I still don’t know what half my freaking channels are, but I’m determined to find out.
I can’t wait to get back home so I can see what happens next on the White Shadow.

Sure,rub it in…

Not that I watch TV all that much(I do have to see what’s up here:)) , but…

I love the fact that I can find out what is on Sci-Fi(or whatever channel) two days away while staying on VH1 or BBC. Surfing channels while staying on one channel ROCKS! There are several Discovery Channels I watch, along with HBO, Showtime, etc. Oh, and the music channels are pretty cool, too. Ooohhh! There are so many cool features.

You think that is good, try sattelite. TV news from other cities around the country. Mmmmm.

BTW blur…

If you catch any Omega Wrestling Alliance matches…where the Hardyz,Lita,3 Count, etc got their start…

Be a sweetie and tape them for me.

Had digital cable, dumped it. Largely because we stopped watching that much TV and started reading again, but also because the international options sucked. 200+ channels, and they can’t sneak in one goddamn channel from every major country in the rest of the world? I don’t count CBC or BBC here. I would give my hind teeth for an NHK or Fuji Television feed from Nippon. What did I get? Five channels of golf, and two channels full of independent films that were so shitty they didn’t even get time at the independent theaters in town (and I live in Seattle!).

It’s probably for the best. I already have enough of my time sucked up once every week by BUFFY and ANGEL. It’s bad enough that my stepdaughter’s gotten me addicted to FELICITY as well <shudder>; I don’t need 200+ additional channels of brain liquifier.

(Not that there’s anything wrong with brain liquification…)

I’m still figuring out all the features, but I love channel surfing while I get to stay with what I’m watching too.

I like looking ahead on the guide to see what is on later, and setting reminders for all the shows I might want to watch all day (not that I watch TV all day, but I can turn it on later and a reminder will pop up for something I decided earlier would be cool to watch).
