Whoring 9/11 for George W. Bush

Umm…

Am I the only one to realize that the reason the Administration mentions the 9/11 incident so often is because it was the single most significant event and its effects might last a little longer than a few weeks?

Jesus. When I see Rjung’s post, I see him yelling at a guy with no legs, “Jesus, are you still complaining about that? It happened years ago!”

Really, tell that to the millions who lost there jobs, and run out of unemployment benefits, or who are cut off of insurance, or what heplessly while there sit police, fire fighter and scoll budgets are cut, or…

I don’t mean to be callous, but if Americans need to be constantly reminded about 9/11, they lack a sense of perspective.

Bullshit!!! It’s scare tactics, in addition to a ploy used to justify a bullshit policy decisions.

While the Republicans are more like the people putting the amputee in every campaign ad with the words, “Vote for us because this man lost his legs! Hurry! If you don’t, you could lose your legs, too!”

You can view the ads here.

oops I meant here.

I didn’t see anything egregious about the 9/11 shot.

Pretty hokey, otherwise.

Gotta wait for the ads he doesn’t approve of to see the good stuff, I guess.

I’d pay good money to see that.

Well, the one that CNN was kind enough to air several times in their story [putatively] about Bush’s ad campaign showed a clip of two guys carrying a dead body wrapped in the American flag out of the rubble… Hmmm, what was this to tell me about George W. Bush.

Additionally, one of them started out with the “inheirited a rececession” bushit.

I hope that Kerry is really going to run a bare-knuckles campaign, because I for one now could drink hot blood.

You already have.

Wow. Just wow.

We’re not talking about the Bush Administration talking about 9/11 and fighting terrorism as part of national policy, we’re talking about the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign taking everything to do with 9/11 and sticking a “Vote for George” sticker on it. The first is part and parcel of governing; the second is crass exploitation of a tragedy for personal gain.

I trust the distinction is clear.

I think it’s hip to deliberately mangle the foreign expression, myself.

And I assume this applies equally to Hillary Clinton? And the rest of Democratic pack of hounds who used the incident to criticize Bush in the immediate aftermath?

Whether candidates use clips of themselves visiting foreign poverty stricken countries, or domestic ghettos with terrible violent crime rates, or they visit tornado ravaged parts of the southwest, they all prop themselves up against horrible back drops that show they have a certain strength or compassion.

This is a political issue, not a GWB issue.

The real issue is: Who is taller? Bush or Kerry?

And who was our last bald president? Considering how prevalent bald/ing men are at the ages most men become president, I’d expect more bald presidents. Since TV became a medium for candidates, I don’t think we’ll see a bald guy as the Chief.

So it’s pretty much this: who has the $, the hair and the height?

This firefighter is absolutely correct. The Bush campaign commercials = looters.

Posted without a trace of sarcasm, irony or facetiousness.

Perception’s a funny thing…

Could you remind me, Unc, which Dems were included in that “pack of hounds”? I can’t actually remember any public criticism of Bush by an elected Democrat in the immediate aftermath of September 11; certainly no coordinated, pack-like political behavior (other than the rallying 'round the flag, which was done in almost monolithic solidarity by Republicans and Democrats alike).

On the other hand, in the time since the attacks there’s been a concerted attempt by one party to coopt the images from that day, to smear the blood of the fallen on their sleeve and wear it as an emblem of fear and loathing. That party is the party of our president. And 9/11 is the new corporate logo of Bushco.

Yippee!! Kerry takes two out of three falls.

Kerry 6’4" Bush 5’11" ** ad Kerry**

Kerry full mane of black hair, Bush greying & receding ad Kerry

Bush spent last 3 1/2 years selling Executive branch of US government as if it were an Amway distributorship

Kerry mortgages own house to keep his presidential campaign alive ad Bush

Damn. And all this time I thought the greatest tragedy was the senseless loss of life.

I assume you mean the aftermath of 9/11. But I don’t think anyone was criticizing Bush in the immediate aftermath of it.

Oh, dear, this is bad. My fellow Perfidious Liars [sup]TM[/sup] have played right into Uncle Beer’s hands! All he has to do is list for us the names and cites of these baying Democrat hounds savaging our beloved Fearless Misleader in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 and he will clearly reveal the hollow hypocrisy at its heart! And, no doubt, he has these names and cites right at his very fingertips!

Oh, dear me! We’re in for it now!

I’m sure UncleBeer will be along any minute now with links to election commercials and ads from Democrats draping themselves in the blood-soaked imagery of 9/11 and portraying themselves as the nation’s last, best hope against the hordes of terrorists just off our shorts. The way George W. Bush will, I mean.

Failing that, I’ll have to conclude that **Unc[/]b apparently can’t distinguish between discussions of government policy and crass exploitation, and this topic is too subtle for him to digest at this time. Maybe he’s drunk again…

Oh please. Surely you all remember the shrill catcalls from the democrats labeling Bush a chickenshit because he flew around making seemingly random landings in Air Force One instead of going to the Whitehouse and making himself vulnerable. The bitching because Bush continued with whatever it was he was doing in the school classroom in Florida. What about the almost immediate claims that Bush had foreknowledge of the attacks? How about the accusations of blind panic among the administration, and the cries of outrage because Bush ordered all planes flying over the U.S. grounded? The anger because it was discovered that military jets were order to scramble and shoot down the airliner over Pennsylvania? If those are legitimate discussions of national policy, I’ll give up my beer drinking. They were nothing but partisan hacks attempting to score points.

My what selective, and fortuitous, memories you guys have. You wanna see the evidence? Go read democrats.com Your compatriots have recorded all the sordid details there for posterity.

And let’s not forget all the people griping because Bush didn’t visit the WTC until four days after the attacks, and then griping about politicizing the situation when he did visit.
