My husband found a spot-on job opening at a good firm here in the Silicon Valley. He has already applied for the job at their website, but we want to improve his chances. Both of us are members of LinkedIn, but are pretty unsure of how best to take advantage of the website to better his chances of his resume being seen by the right people at this firm.
What’s the conventional wisdom? Through LinkedIn, I see two or three people at the firm in question listed as “technical recruiters” there. Ought he to try to connect with them, or is that something one ought to avoid? I’m reminded of all the strangers who tried to “friend” me on Facebook when I joined, and how I thought it was a bit creepy. I’ll assume a similar dynamic on LinkedIn.
Who’s good at this sort of thing and can advise me?
