"who's a pretty boy, then?"

Howdy folks!

Quick question I’ve been pondering but can’t seem to find an answer to go with it.

You know the classic ‘parrot/talking bird’ phrases we have in English?

Who’s a pretty boy, then?
Polly want a cracker?
Pieces of eight!

Does anyone know what the Spanish equivalent for these would be? And I’m guessing Polly wouldn’t be a typical Spanish bird name either.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

(apologies if this has already been asked, but my search keeps crashing the browser!)

I’m not sure if you’re trying to find the Spanish equivalents because you think parrots were originally Spanish or not.

In any event, we did the origins of “Polly want a cracker” just a few months ago and found it only from 1849 (in English).

I’ve heard "Roberto quiere cacao?’ quite often, whith Roberto being the bird’s name.
