So who do you think it will be this year?
On the men’s side, I am going with Sampras but I would rather see Todd Martin finally take home one of the big ones.
As for the women, I have pretty much had it with the whole Williams family and would like to see anyone but them win it. So, my prediction is Hingis but would rather see a lesser known take the title.
Side note–
Ever notice how the tennis courts are so much more crowded when one of the Grand Slams is on?
I guess all of those folks see the pros smacking the ball around and figure “Hey, I can do that.”
Then you go out on the courts and can see the most ridiculous of styles as people are clubbing the balls six feet deep and sometimes over the fence and grunting away like the big boys (and girls) do.
Always an amusing spectacle.
