Who's got a cold?

I’ve had colds alternating with ear infections almost end-to-end for the entirety of 2005. I thought I was done with them for a while, but my throat’s been getting pretty scratchy lately.

Seriously, I can’t believe you guys had 4-6 year streaks. I cannot fathom that. I can’t say I’ve gone more than a month or two without a cold this year, and I’ve had them pretty much one after the other since I started boot camp in June.

I’m really hoping that quitting smoking will help for 2006. If not, I’m not sure what I’m going to do. This is really starting to get annoying.

Yeah. I really feel for you. You poor bastard.

Yeah, I had that in boot camp too. Lots of fun.

dunno, sounds like he’s coming down with a case of Pirate to me…

My Wife and I have missed the last three days of work. I had a 102.5 fever this morning.

I’m pretty sure we have a cold and the flu.

I will almost certainly miss tomorow, Friday as well. My Wife has the day off. We better shake this thing this weekend, it starting to piss me off.

Is it possible to have a cold and the flu? I’ve been looking online and the only criteria my Wife and I don’t meet for the flue is 102-104 temp for 3 days, but I did hit it this morning, then it dropped back down.

My Wife has the sore throat. I had a very small tinge of one a few days before the roof caved in and we got really sick.

I’ve never had a head ache like this with a Cold, but my sinuses are draining like you would expect from a head cold. We also have the muscle aches that go along with the flu.

Big time cough for both of us too. Dry cough for the most part, but a coughing spasm will just about drive me too my knees.

And extreme exhaustion? Boy Howdy, do we ever. My Wife thought she was feeling a little better and wanted to get outside. My Wife is a Marathon runner, yet shoveling 4” of powder from our small deck knocked her on her ass. She’s sleeping now.

So. Can you have a cold and the flu?

Ohhhh, I’m so tired. I just cooked dinner even though neither of us were terribly hungry. But you gotta feed the machine, right? And he had to trudge off to work while I stayed home so I cooked but the short time preparing just *exhausted *me.

Right. It’s also known as pertussis. My friend works in the Somerville HS, and I know that it was prevalent there a few years ago. I believe that I may have contracted it around that time; it certainly was months of nagging coughs. I got so used to it that I never noticed when I eventually shook it off.

Tonight for dinner -

Kiwi fruit and, boiled eggs. It sounds delish to me now, I wouldn’t be able to handle anything heavy. Just too much work. The preparing, and the eating.

I’m on my second cold in 45 days. The first one was pretty bad- turned into bronchitis- this one, not so bad.

I can’t remember having 2 colds in such a short period of time. And it’s not like I’m taking crap care of myself either.

I’m in the middle of my semiannual sinus infection. Mmm, kleenex full of Kermit-green goo.

—coughs on Kalhoun

In the middle (hopefully) of my annual cold. I get one every year after visiting the niece and nephews for the holidays. Damn rugrats and their evil germs!

Aww, that’s sweet, thank you. The candle is quite lovely, indeed.

Get well soon to everyone!

Maybe I got it in Somerville? I live in Arlington and work in Cambridge. Of course I also pulled muscles in my chest during one pretty spectacular coughing fit. At least I got some good drugs for it.

i’ll be the dick

i don’t get sick. all i get is a sniffle.

never been in the hospital, never broken a bone.

all i’ve had in the past…um…10 years is a minor ear infection that i had about 3 months ago.
i know, all of you can be phlemmy green with envy now

Hey, Least, come here and let me lick you.

I’m going to have to withdraw. I went to the doctor today because my fever would not go down for several days. I have pneumonia and a sinus infection. Oh GOODIE!

Looks like I’ve started on my yearly cold. Late Thursday night I noticed a slight tickle in my throat from a bit of post-nasal drip. I took some benadryl on the chance it might head it off. Got up yesteray AM and it was a bit worse. By yesterday evening it was even worse, my nose was running, and I started to feel sick. Slept fitfully. Still worse today with a bit of coughing. No fever, at least.

It started with a watery eye a week ago. That lasted for about 3 days & then cleared up for 4 days. Last monday I had some sniffling, I took a shitload of vitamin C. The sniffles went away that night, to return Friday (yesterday). Today I have one nostril stuffed shut and a scratch in the back of my throat. Within a week it will crawl down into my lungs and then (hopefully) leave completely a week later.

This happens every year, right around the holidays.

Man, I’ve got a cold. It’s slight and lingering. It makes my eyes burn badly and go red. It makes my chest feel tight. It wears me the hell out. Gives me a sore neck sometimes too. God I am tired of this cold, but at the same time rather grateful it didn’t become The Flu.

Oh my. Take your medicine faithfully, or you might get a relapse, or so I’ve heard.

about a third through the seemingly never-ending annual cold (impervious to conventional palliatives) that quietly disappears every spring,
