Who's staying on the SDMB?

7 up yours, I’d be more than happy to help you with this (that is, if you’ve seen me around, somewhat know my post history and therefore trust me enough with your $5.00), but I can’t email you all this because your address isn’t listed in your profile. I think mine is in my profile, but sadly, this computer-challenged Doper really can’t tell because I didn’t see a box to specifically check that option. ::: scratches head and looks perplexed ::: Um, if you can’t find it, post back to me here and we’ll work something out.

(Or, of course, perhaps some other good Samaritan will come along and explain basic Internet principals to me.)

AGH! And naturally, now I’ve found it. It should be there. I swear!

(Sorry for the double post!! I really need to navigate these little boogers better.)

Well, hell…I’m in. I think I can swing $4.95 for a year’s membership.

Would that be chlorine for the gene pool?

I’ll stay.

165 post, about 127 say there staying, lucky if 400 Dopers will be here 3/23/05 when the subscription goes to $7.50/year. Hope the SDMB’s don’t tank before then

Sorry, folks, but I shan’t be staying. I’m simply too paranoid to pay in any of the ways discribed. If I could mail a check in, I would stay, but alas, I shall miss you more than you’ll know.

I hope the next month is beautiful.

Newbie.

I’m sticking around. Maybe in the next year I’ll develop into a board personality, too. That would rock.

I’m staying!! I’m Staying!!!

Everyone say yaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!

I don’t post very much, but I’m definitely subscribing. Which reminds me, I really should go ahead and pay up for live journal. Anyone checked the cost of magazine subs these days?! I’d much rather sub to SDMB–it’s worth it.

I’m staying and paying, even though I lurk lots more than I post.

I’ve lurked long enough to get addicted and I love this place for sheer entertainment value.

However, if this had been a pay site waaaay back (last year sometime) when I first started lurking, I probably wouldn’t even have stuck around long enough to know how enjoyable it is. I might have lurked a bit and maybe even bookmarked it for a glance now and then, but I definitely wouldn’t have done the 30 day free trial or paid $15. I hope that future prospective members aren’t as cheap as me!

Here I am, here I will remain.

Thanks to the kind efforts of Snoopyfan, eeveryone’s favorite Mississippienne-cum-MADoper (me, duh) will be staying. Yes, yes, try to contain your excitement.

$4.95/$7.50 a year? Hell, I spill that much every month!

I’m staying.

Goodbye, SDMB. All good things must come to an end.

Why? Basicially I have no way of paying for stuff online. Not from the US, no paypal, no credit card.

Guess now I am really lost.

Hello to Shirley Ujest, another Farker moonlighting on the SDMB…

I pay $5 a month for TotalFark - and as soon as I get my DSL line back I’ll start taking full advantage of it again in the Photoshop contests. If I can spend $5 for a whole YEAR of SDMB membership…you bet your bippy.

I’m just glad that I finally quit lurking and joined up a few weeks ago. Discounted rates apply! Whoo hoo!

Seriously, this board is a great value. Given the resources and time it must take to keep everything running smoothly, I don’t blame them for going subscription in the least.

Me and my impressive 10 post count (give or take a few) are staying.

I bought the first straight dope book in 1984 at age 12. Same year (I think) that I got the VIC-20 for my birthday.

I’ve lurked here for years 'cause I like to read and finally made my first few posts this year.

If I could afford about $4.95 in 1984 for the book I can afford $4.95 in 2004 for the boards… 'course it’ll probably end up averaging about 50¢ a post over the next year. LOL!

Forgot one little thing…I’d like to help out one or two fellow Dopers who can’t pay to play. If some of our non-US friends want to stay on, I’d be willing to “sponsor” a few…send me some Euros, or something.

I’ll check the other forums to see if there’s an organized effort for this. Otherwise interested parties could email me…
