Just purchased the newly released “Strays” by Jane’s Addiction…Fantastic effort. The band is even more hard driving than ever before. Navaro has never sounded better and neither has Perry.
Who’s your favorite alt.rock band?
Foo-Fighters - I like Dave Grohl, especially after the demise of Nirvana - Kurt Kobain.
When did this practice of writing alt.rock like it was a newsgroup start? 
I’m going with Gun, although Foo and Alice in Chains are great.
Nirvana Still and probably always.
Next in line: Foo Fighters For all the obvious reasons.
Soul Coughing is very high up in my book, but I don’t right know if they be count’n as Alternative, yarr!!!

Are Collective Soul and Lifehouse considered alt. rock bands? If so, put me down for those two.
Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins…that’s my top ten. There’s just so many. It’s a shame so many don’t exist anymore. I wasn’t even aware that the term “alternative rock” was used anymore, let alone seeing it as “alt.rock”!
Speaking of the foos, my husband asked me yesterday, “How come they seem to be the most popular band all of a sudden?” I don’t know, but I love 'em so I’m happy! Did you know there is a String Quartet Tribute to them?
