Who's your favorite sports writer (news)?

Just finished The Book of Basketball and I have to say, it’s a great read for those of us that love the NBA but didn’t grow up on it.

My favorite is also Stephen Brunt of the Globe and Mail.

Might want to take a closer look at the byline next week.

I think Ross Tucker is good. He played in the NFL long enough to know what he’s talking about, but isn’t famous enough to coast on star wattage.

Rick Reilly, I will admit, has written some pieces that have moved me. But at this point, my attitude is, “Jesus, not ANOTHER heartwarming tale of sportsmanship and/or overcoming the odds by Rick Reilly.” He’s gone to that well way too many times. What I want to see now is a column about him guffawing with unholy glee as he takes the mound at a charity baseball game and starts firing heaters straight at the special-needs kids’ heads.
