Why are all cigarettes white?

USA, not sure where you are from. Relatively few men in the US would willingly and voluntarily choose a pink ANYTHING to use/consume, mostly because pink is associated with femininity.

Pink=femine=not masculine=gay*

So yes, I believe that American mens’ aversion to pink is rooted in homophobia.

That said, I believe the statement I remembered was identified as a one-liner from a comedian upthread. Meaning, it was meant to be funny, although I offered the observation as a legitimate reason that cigarettes were white (or at least not pink), so as not to be accused of breaking the GQ rule of not providing joke responses until the question has been answered.

ETA:* I don’t believe this, but I believe a large proportion of men in this country do. FTR, I am a middle aged heterosexual male.

Sobranie still sell their Cocktail tabs - multiple bright colours.

Years ago, roll-your-own smokers were buying papers in a wide variety of colors, materials, and flavors. Yes, folks were smoking hand-rolled American flag ciggies. That was long before anybody was making a big hoo-raw about burning flags, let alone little bitty flags.

Materials? You could get 'em in rice paper, hemp paper, and the traditional wood pulp paper.

Sobranie Cocktail has already been mentioned. Nat Sherman’s Fantasia is another multicolor option. Not likely you’ll see them in local convenience store but they’re available in specialty tobacco shops and online.
