Why are conservatives such dicks?

Given that he’s a fairly well placed figure in a strictly defined media format that gathers earballs entirely thru ginning up RO, I wouldn’t think he could possibly be reasonable. He couldn’t afford it.

He is comparatively reasonable, this must be granted, when the comparison includes such denizens of the deeply deranged as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. Which is why, of course, his tax returns are more modest than either of those.

IIRC, he calls himself a libertarian, but hasn’t he spoken out against gays in the past? Or am I thinking of someone else?

A man who’s life is built on the accumulated social capital of generations who then turns around and says ‘I owe you nothing.’

Probably because most of the haters you follow are on the radio. :stuck_out_tongue:
What Righties have called Lefties based on the caterwauling of Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck, and the rest has been every bit as bad as or worse than “dicks.”

And how is that footage supposed to show disruption? Those were people who were locked out of a public meeting with their elected rep, demanding to be heard by that rep. Why aren’t you pissed about the doors being locked on them? That’s the outrage.

Here’s what happened on the other side of the door. A liberal rep trying to blow smoke up the ass of the voters and totally ignoring what they were saying. Is that the lib game plan? Lock the doors on the majority of the people who want to attend the meeting and then lie to the ones that got in and then ignore them when they call you on the lies? Why the hell aren’t you outraged by that, instead of being snarky about people demanding to meet with their elected rep.?

Sigh.

Do you?

Since my original post, I’ve been doing some reading. And I retract what I said; the government is implementing a “final solution” of sorts.

• Page 425: More bureaucracy: Advance Care Planning Consult: Senior Citizens, assisted suicide, euthanasia?
• Page 425: Government will instruct and consult regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney, etc. Mandatory. Appears to lock in estate taxes ahead of time.
• Page 425: Goverment provides approved list of end-of-life resources, guiding you in death.
• Page 427: Government mandates program that orders end-of-life treatment; government dictates how your life ends.
• Page 429: Advance Care Planning Consult will be used to dictate treatment as patient’s health deteriorates. This can include an ORDER for end-of-life plans. An ORDER from the GOVERNMENT.
• Page 430: Government will decide what level of treatments you may have at end-of-life.

People, if for no other reason than these pages alone, we should all rise up in arms and demand of our elected officials that this bill be killed, a stake be driven through its heart and garlic shoved in its mouth, so that it will never return.

Funny, when you said you’ve been doing some “reading”, one might infer that you’ve been reading the actual health bill. Instead, you’ve just been reading the talking points.

The least you can do, when you’re mindlessly cutting and pasting, is be honest about it.

I don’t recall the Nazis offering their victims end of life counseling and consultations on living wills. I went to public school, so I could be wrong, but I thought they rounded them up and murdered them.

Now I’m wondering who would be more offended by this assinine equivocation: Obama or Heydrich. :smack:

Has anybody posted a link to the actual bill? It’s over here - it’s an enormous document in PDF form but you can scroll ahead to page 425 and the subsequent pages.

Oh, and as for this? A lie

And another cite that also details these fabrications.

Wow. You’re so full of shit sometimes it’s a wonder it doesn’t spill out of your ears. Page 425 and the rest of the last sentence, which continues onto 426:

“Government” doesn’t “consult and instruct”. Your own fucking doctor explains.

I scarcely need to mention that it doesn’t say a damn thing about estate taxes, but then you didn’t actually write this anyway, did you? (Thanks to ArchiveGuy for pointing that out).

Clothahump is going to live forever. Didn’t you guys know that? So it’s plain to see why he wouldn’t need to consult with anyone about creating a living will, or planning for any unforeseen accidents or the normal deterioration of health caused by old age. No need to be responsible and consider such things because he’s got  PRIVATE INSURANCE , and they’ll spare no expense to make sure he can drag out his final days shitting his pants and trolling internet messageboards.

Only if the Freepers tell him to, though.

Let’s wait around a bit and wait for Clothahump’s apology for spreading falsehoods, shall we?

I’m not holding my breath…

It’s almost like Free Republic isn’t a neutral and unbiased source for comment on this health care initiative. Say it ain’t so, Clothahump. Say it ain’t so.

Walks off, shaking his head sadly.

Heck, I’d settle for an apology for plagiarism. He’s demonstrated he’s dumb enough to not understand those irksome details involved with reading comprehension and such, but he’s certainly been around long enough to know not to quote at length without attribution…

In my head, I totally heard the theme to The Incredible Hulk.

ITT:Clothahump mindlessly posts wrong data, he copied from some site, making him a tool.
