Why are conservatives such dicks?

I wish **Clothahump **would keep out of this thread for a while, instead of answering these charges of plagiarism and toolishness so copiously that no one can get a word in edgewise.

[Crickets.]

Now now, it hasn’t even been 12 hours yet–give the guy enough time to Google Fu some more pearls of wisdom that are bound to impress.

They still exist?

All while trying to imply he’s been reading the bill itself. Funny stuff.

You know, guys, I’ve been working on a bit of a manifesto. Nothing much, but here’s the beginning:

This is what I wrote this morning. What do you think?

Well, it’s alright, but it could do with some more punctuation.

[hijack] I wonder if anyone’s ever used the Declaration of Independence as the basis of a Dear John letter. [/hijack]

Holy shit. Just when you thought credibility couldn’t go any further into the shithole. The wealth of delusion floors me. Republican “reality” at its finest.

To be clearer, I’m dismayed at Clothahump, and not ArchiveGuy.

What’s fun about this thread is that it starts with an unproven assertion, so then Republicans in this and other threads seem to feel the need to prove that yes, they ARE dicks.

“I’m gonna prove your allegation! That’ll show you!”

Gives new meaning to the old cliche: “This’ll hurt me more than it hurts you,” doesn’t it?

It’s a common tactic among the brain dead.

[Extremist Muslim]

“Islam is NOT a violent religion, and if you say it is one more time I’ll FUCKING KILL YOUR ASS!”

[Redneck]

“I’ll show you what we do to faggots around here-- take 'em out back, strip 'em down, tie 'em to a tree and FUCK 'EM IN THE ASS! WOOOO!”

Statement from John Boehner about Big Pharma “appeasing” Obama:

This is moving beyond greed and into just plain dumbassery and mean-spiritedness.

I especially loved this bit:

When has the GOP ever stood up against anyone hoping to secure favorable treatment from the government for the purpose of raking in bigger profits? Ahh, I see, they’re trying to help poor people here, so it must be bad.
Of course I doubt any of this will keep him from taking Pharma’s money in the future.
But this is, after all, a guy whose name looks like Boner.

I grew up during the years of such people as Ike, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush The First. I don’t think of the current crop as being conservative at all. Rather, for the groups you mention, I consider them instead to be right wing authoritarians. Their “vision” of freedom (for them) would be a tyranny (for anyone else), subject to what they think the rest of us had better be doing and obeying. A real conservative would recoil form them in horror.

Republicans’ general theme that nature is subservient to Man is the most disturbing aspect to me. Global warming denial is the latest incarnation of the GOP’s long-running disdain for any aspect of nature that isn’t about profit or recreation (e.g. hunting for sport). They’ve ignored evidence for DDT poisoning, the plight of endangered species, lead bullets poisoning wildlife, asbestos lung problems, acid rain, the ozone hole, and now AGW.

The only good conservative eco-point I’ve seen lately is their willingness to admit that industrial wind turbines are an environmental fraud. Unfortunately, many of them take that view as part of global warming denial, which makes it hard for environmentalists to fight a neo-environmental movement that seeks to industrialize landscapes in the name of “saving” the planet. They just claim that wind turbines must be good because Trump has spoken against them.

Jesus, this post confused the hell out of me before I noticed the date on it.

Just noticing the NAME on it should have informed you that it was complete and utter bullshit without even a nodding acquaintance with reality.

Well that was a fun walk down memory lane. How about those “DEATH PANELS!!!” Conservatives sure did care about the elderly and terminally ill not dying when they were rolling out Obamacare.

I wonder what happened.

Almost 8 years and Clothy still can’t be bothered to answer the assertions of plagiarism in this thread.

Why am I not surprised? What a tool indeed.

Why are conservatives such dicks?

Well, its because their assholes are so tight that they cannot dance to this.

Fuckers. They have no souls.

In fact, this is merely the latest manifestation of their stupidity, which whenever it seems to have hit rock bottom gets out a jackhammer and keeps digging.

As for the question posed in the OP lo these many years ago:

[QUOTE=John Kenneth Galbraith]
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
[/QUOTE]

Damn, never mind. A zombie got me.
