This was posted at the forum of a games site I frequent. It may not be a big deal, but it just shows the mindfucked mentality of some people, most of whom are probably about my age (I’m 16).

For the record, RZA, it has nothing to do with them being your age (I have a feeling some of those posters are 40 year olds living in their momma’s basement), and it has nothing to do with them being gamers. Message boards, especially unmoderated ones, attract losers without the social skills to have real world friends. They like to pretend that everyone reads what they say, when most people have them on their bozo filter.
If it makes you feel any better, it seems to me that 16-year-olds, and people in general, these days are a hell of a lot less homophobic than they were 20 years ago when I was 16. There are still way too many yahoos out there, but it was a hell of a lot worse when I was growing up.
the sad thing is, those are the people i went to high school with. in all seriousness. or, well, at least, SOME seriousness. maybe not literally the same ones, but damn, did i know a few of those…
where i’m from, it’s common practice to accuse girls with short hair of being lesbians. not that they were always that far off, but god, what a witchhunt. something like the Red Scare, i’d be willing to bet.
The funny thing is that, contrary to the assertion of the moron that RZA quotes in his OP, many gay guys are better at attracting women than straight guys could ever hope to be.
Anyway, yeah the people on your board are a bunch of homophobic bigots. So what? Theres not much you can do. Just keep in mind that there are quite a number of 16 year olds who aren’t homophobic bigots. One day those kids will crawl their way out of their parents basement, see the sun for he first time and realize that theres more to life than computers and assumptions about people they’ve never met. Just ignore them, eventually evolution will filter them out .
