Why can't I delete an email account in Thunderbird 9.0?

Tools>Account Settings>User

It brings up the Gmail account, but ‘Delete’ is greyed out.

I uninstalled Thunderbird and then deleted the Thunderbird folder in program files.

I then reinstalled Thunderbird, but instead of asking me to add an account, it came right back up with the old profile and saved emails.

Where is this profile stored and how do I delete the damn thing?

Thinking the profile may not be stored in the Thunderbird folder in Program files, I did a search of C: and found two .pf files in the C:\Windows\Prefetch directory.

I deleted those and reinstalled Thunderbird and it comes right back up with my Gmail account still there.
