Why can't I find a 2.8 ghz socket 478 400mhz FSB Pentium 4 Processor?

I know that it’s the best processor that can fit in my old Dell’s motherboard, and it seems like it should be a reasonably cheap part to purchase now - but I can’t find the damned thing anywhere. Online retailers don’t have it, it’s not on ebay - what’s the deal? Was this chip super-limited or something? I think that it was the last P4 before they went to the 800mhz FSB - did they just not make many because the newer chips were coming?

Where and how can I find one?

I’ve had a few drinks, but are you sure you want a 400mhz FSB, and not an 800? Something about doubling with DDR RAM?
Sorry, not much help

Definitely need the 400mhz FSB; the MOBO uses RDram, not DDR. That one’s a 533…damn!

How about a 2.6 @ 400?

And here’s a 2.8:

Hmm, I couldn’t even find one on the egg or pricegrabber. This is a very mysterious processor indeed.
