I am trying to view the New Voyages Star Trek episodes. I downloaded VLC media player, but all I get is audio. What gives?
You probably don’t have the right codec on your system – look for and download some codec collection like K-Lite Codec Pack, this should enable you to play basically all reasonably common video file types. But I’m not really sure what’s considered to be the ‘best’ pack these days.
Whoa. If VLC can’t, nothing will. Are these DVD’s?
I’ve had the same problem with VLC but only after I’d left the computer on for more than a day, doing defragmentation or virus checks. After a reboot, it was always OK.
VLC didn’t play video for some files I’ve downloaded, it seemed that changing screen resolution got around that problem.
The KMPlayer is more likely to play the file than VLC. The codecs come bundled.
