For the Peanut Gallery: For many years the Rolleyes smiley/emoticon/emoji was a sickly green face with properly rolled eyes. A few years back it was replaced with :rolleyes:, which does not convey disgust and dismissal of someone’s statement. Instead it is cute.
I am often disgusted and dismissive and I want the old one back. Why can’t I have it?
The worse one is the “cool” emoticon, 
which to me does not show in any way that i think your post was “cool”.
I think the intent is to show that I, as the poster, am cool, but I don’t need any pictorial reassurance that I’m cool.
I think the little sunglasses dude is cute.

I’ve got a better idea. Keep it, don’t relabel it, but remember the meaning in your head! That way you can get around the prohibition about wishing death on Dopers completely legally and within the rules.

I agree about the need for a Rolleyes that actually looks like eye-rolling skepticism, instead of :rolleyes:.
That one looks like a happy little person who’s just had a really happy thought! Which is nice for him (or her), of course. But for the poster hoping to convey scorn or disdain or incredulity…it’s useless.
Old rolleyes looks as though he farted in the grocery aisle and blamed it on granny.

I have found that scorn and disdain can be adequately conveyed by :dubious:. I’d still like the green rolleyes back.

The rolleyes smiley is the worst smiley and should be embarrassingly weak looking. If a rolleyes smiley has to exist at all, it should make people who use it sorry they tried and should reflex badly on them.
