Why can't we have the good Rolleyes back?

Yes, it will fork a copy of reality and show you what you want to see instead of what the rest of the world experiences. From the safety of your bubble you will further entrench your own views and reinforce your own prejudices until you finally lose the ability to cope with the outside world as it is and emerge, Krikkit-like, to destroy everything that doesn’t fit into your worldview. Just like what happens to you on Facebook or other social media.

But reality is overrated anyway.

Enjoy,
Steven

Who needs reality?

Oh hell, I’m there already.

Fork reality.

For those that don’t remember them, the old emoticons, except for “:smack:”, which I believe is our custom one. There was better color variations before.

In Putin’s Russia, reality fork YOU!

Heck, FWIW I still miss the Happy Hassid smiley after all these years and I’m not even the right ethnicity…

I miss the “putz” winking smiley.

I’m Jewish and I liked it, but it offended another Jewish guy, so I must sadly agree in doing away with it.

I don’t know what that is a reference to, but I can also role my r’s.
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrricola

:dubious: is also custom

Cut-and-paste is easiest if you have a source. If not, type in the desired Unicode in decimal, per the following examples. On the left of each line are the seven (or 8) required characters with a space after the initial ‘&’. On the right are the same seven (or 8) characters but without the space.
& #9748; :umbrella:
& #9749; :coffee:
& #9973; :sailboat:
& #9981; :fuelpump:
& #8473; ℙ
& #8492; ℬ
& #8859; ⊛
& #10048; ❀
& #10057; ❉

The first four (colored!) Unicode characters above seem so nifty you may expect there are lots more, but I think there are only a few. (The 12 Zodiac signs are available with different colors for fire, earth, air and water signs. These are 9800-9811 if you want them.)
The hollow P and the script B seem useful … until you realize that neither style supports *all *26 letters. There are dozens of nifty shapes like the last three in the list above.

Of course these are all dependent on your browser having the right font support. @ Everyone — Please tell me whether your device displays the nine icons above.

If you see such a Unicode character displayed and want to “reverse-engineer” its code (e.g. derive 9749 from :coffee:) it’s possible, but the way I know is very tedious.

I see:
Rainy purple umbrella
Coffee cup
Sailboat with orange sails
Red gasoline pump
Paragraph sign
Script B
Star inside a circle
Five-petaled flower
Eight-lobed bullet point

Latest version of Firefox, Mac OSX High Sierra

I see sky-blue colored sails. :frowning:
(You didn’t mention coffee cup color. Is it light brown?)

I use Chrome on Windoze 10, but also see the blue color with Firefox.

Same here with Firefox 59.0.2

I see all of them. But I’m on Windows 10 with Chrome and see the orange sails.

Maybe it’s a sunset. Are the sails not supposed to be orange?

Nope, they’re supposed to be red.

You mention TamperMonkey, but are you also installing the script itself? Here’s a direct link to the page. Click the big blue Install button. If TM is working right, it should bring up a page asking if you want to install the script. The icon should be the old rolleyes, since that’s the one everyone likes the most.

I admit I’ve never tested it on a Mac. But Chrome, at least, should work the same. And I would expect TamperMonkey on Safari to work, too.

Oops. I see the problem. It doesn’t activate on the new HTTPS version of the site. I could have sworn I’d already fixed this, but I guess I forgot. That should be fixed in version 4.1.
