For what it’s worth, this is (according to various studies) a myth. Liberals don’t tend to become conservatives as they get old any more than conservatives tend to become liberals. There are at least a couple things that can make you think that they do. One is that as time goes on, the issues that liberals and conservatives disagree on change. When you get old, you tend not to keep up with what’s going on in such things, and you appear to have gotten conservative. The second reason is that as you age, you tend to be less strident about your opinions. You may be just as liberal or conservative as you used to be, but you don’t make as big a deal about it as you used to.
