I don’t know why but that movie just cracked me up. Especially sarcasted snobby Spade playing a white trash dude. TOOO funny!
There were so money funny parts I don’t know where to start. The modeling Dirt at the carnival was pretty darn funny. The comment Dennis Miller said about him being a stunt double for Billy Ray Ciris just cracked me up to no end.
Is it just me or did you find this movie funny too?
Bill, you might want to sit down for this. This sort of thing is always hard to tell someone, but… Your tests came back, and… Well, you don’t have a sense of humor. Yes, I’m sorry, but the results are very clear. It’s okay to cry. The nurse will have some literature about support groups, you ought to look into them.
Even sadder is that I enjoyed it. Sure, the humor was a bit junior high, the satire; pathetic. But the moral of the story was oddly moving. The underachiever, the outcast, the kid who was rejected by his very parents prevailed. In the face of every rejection, every cruel comment directed at him, he came through, and not only that, he retained a positive outlook. He didn’t turn into a misanthrope, a cranky old man, he did not kill himself, or go shoot up a school cafeteria, he remained set in his goal for finding his parents. The same parents that abandoned him when he was but 8 years old.
I cried at this movie, mabey because it hit so close to home, me the pariah, the geek that was made fun of all my life, and I think that it touched me in many ways. It sure taught me that life is what you make it. It can have a good conclusion if you only remain set in your desires, willing to sacrafice the things you don’t need, and retain a positive outlook on life.
I initially approached this movie as one would approach a terrible car wreck - one hand over the eyes but peeking just a bit. I was pleasantly suprised and entertained. Yes, it is a funny movie. "Dang!"
