Actually I liked Mickey a lot – and he did a great deal of growing up in the course of the stories.[/spoiler]

Ah ok thanks… yeah, I’m just watching them in order as Netflix presents them to me. I’ll have to look up the movies and fit them in.
I’m still not impressed at all with Doctor #11, tho. It’s worse than suffering through #5 and #6 all over again IMO. The writing still seems to have fallen off as well.
btw, what order are those in?
ETA: I figure The Next Doctor must be right before S5 started, but what about the others?
Nope, it’s
The Next Doctor
Planet of the Dead
Waters of Mars
The End of Time
I thought we did tell you, and you handwaved it away! Or has somebody been tampering with my mind again…
Ah ok ty… neither The Next Doctor or Planet of the Dead is available streaming, but the other 2 are, so I’ll at least be able to catch up with the 2 that were recommended.
Ricky grew a lot. It’s something I love about this show: people come out of it different from how they came in.
Rose was too young for me. Billie Piper has since grown into her face.
The Next Doctor is available streaming. It’s not a separate, it’s listed as the last episode of season 4.
Oh yeah, ok I watched that. For some reason, tho, if you search for it it comes up as a movie that’s not available streaming. That was definitely the weakest episode of S4.
I’m halfway through The End Of Time now, and yeah, it’s bloody brilliant.
Wow.
I just watched Blink, a Doctor-lite episode. But it was really good. My wife and I have felt that Series 3 is the best one so far.
Blink is widely considered to be one of the best of the New Who episodes. It is a shame that Sally Sparrow couldn’t have become a Companion.
Things that never existed can be brought back by remembering.
I agree and said the same thing to my wife. She and her boyfriend should have traveled with the Doctor.
I’m still holding out for her to be the next companion after the Ponds.
This. Sally Sparrow and Wilf should go on and the Ponds have a daughter to raise.
ETA: For newbies, Wilfred Mott, Donna’s grandad, is played by Bernard Cribbins, the “hotel inspector” on Fawlty Towers.
Wow, that is really cool. So both he and John Cleese have been on Doctor Who. ![]()
The wife and I just watched the season 4 premiere. The Doctor briefly acquires a second sonic device(a pen), but he throws it away in a trash can at the end of the episode. Why in the world did he not give it to Donna? I mean he could do that cool “double sonic blast” thing any time he wanted. Weird.
That other sonic device came from a suspicious source–Miss Foster, who was up to no good.
I picked up a copy of Doctor Who: The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter at Half Price Books. It consists of e-mail correspondence between showrunner Russell T Davies & Benjamin Cook, beginning as Series 3 of New Who was being broadcast & Series 4 was being planned, along with Series 2 of Torchwood & the beginning of the Sarah Jane Adventures. I’m up to the announcement of the show’s turnover to Steven Moffat & the writing of Children of The Earth. Davies has several specials & David Tennant’s last episodes to write (& produce!) & there’s a picture of Matt Smith at the end.
Davies is an amusing writer (duh!) & also draws excellent cartoons. He’s exhausted by keeping all those projects going but loves his work. For a fan, there are wonderful glimpses of the actors & other folks involved. Plus a fascinating view of how stories begin & how then eventually make it to the screen.
this is my 3rd doctor since I started, but I wish i could find the dvd series of everything they offered as the prize for the “where’s the Tardis” contest… I bet I will love them all
Ok here are the clues I now know about River Song … she is Amy’s daughter…and she is in prison for killing a “very important man”…
does anyone else think that man is the Doctor?
And who is her father? rory or the doctor? remember the baby did exist in 2 different dimensions at one time… (episode #160 The Doctor’s Wife) he was scanning the baby with the Tardis
