Why do Americans dislike France?

The French opposed support for the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. I recall seeing on TV some Americans buying French champagne and dumping it in the street, criticizing French’ mustard even though they aren’t French and who could ever forget freedom fries?

We dislike the French because their zombies are rude and never bathe.

“In France I’m a mediocre guy. Here in America I am Superman. In France my cooking is a disgrace while here in America, I’m a master chef. In France I can’t score with the women while in America, every woman thinks I’m a great lover. In France…”

Oh I am getting so sick of the lies, the lies, the lies
Of the living dead
Lie, lie, lies of the living dead
Lie, lie, lies of the living dead

Yes, the earlier thread he’s referring to is this same thread.

I’d agree that excessive Francophilia is more of a problem than Francophobia which existed only briefly in the aftermath of the Iraq War among certain segments of the right-wing population. Also its ridiculous to suppose the LA riots can’t be repeated in France considering that France is more racially intolerant than the United States is. Not to say it has things we can’t emulate obviously, we could use a high speed rail system and have 80% of our electricity coming from nuclear power.
