Why do Christians — America’s most populous religious group — feel so victimized?

You call it rude. I don’t. Speaking the truth in a debate is the right thing to do. Are you an advocate of lying? I don’t believe in their god. I don’t respect their god. I am appalled by what they do in the name of their god. I am horrified by what they claim he has done to perfectly innocent people. To me it would be disrespectful to pretend to feel any different.

I simply can’t tell you how often I am offended by religious propaganda. Deeply offended. For believers to claim that “sky fairy” rises to a pimple on the butt of that level of offense is just whining, plain and simple.

I think religion should get no special treatment in a debate. So don’t say “sky fairy” about God and don’t say that Jenny McCarthy is a blond airhead if you debate her on vaccines.

So, I’ll just refer to Jenny McCarthy as “fanatic scum”, the same way I refer to Christianity’s “demon god”. That’s being evenhanded.

In other words, “not giving special treatment” doesn’t mean “treating with kid gloves”.
