Why do guests on Maury constantly get Maurys name wrong?

The most common one is guests calling Maury “Murry” but I literally just saw a new episode where somebody called him “Mark”.

I have literally never seen this on any other talk show, when did you ever see anyone mangle Oprah or Jerry’s names? But I’ve seen so many people mess up Maurys name.

My guess is a lot of Maury’s guests are morons.

I guess I would have to hear it, but that could sound close in some dialects. I’ve only seen a small number of episodes, and I haven’t noticed this. But “Mark,” yeah …
