Alright, try this: visit www.straightdope.com click on the forums from there. This should set a proper cookie-at least thats what I read once & that’s what I do.
Sometimes your browser stores the old cookies from the old boards & you need to flush them out.

I don’t mind logging in each time I post – In fact, I prefer to do it that way. I’m using a university computer, and I don’t want to be permanently logged in on any particular machine.
However, sometimes after I click the preview or submit buttons, it asks me to log in again. And after I do, I get an error message saying that it doesn’t know what thread I was trying to reply to.
The reply screen (ya know, the one I’m typing in now) says that I’m logged in as user: Tattva. So at least right now it knows who I am. But sometimes it will post, and sometimes it won’t.
It seems that I am able to post after I reopen a thread and click reply. And the board forces me to relogin.
