I don’t know if we are necessarily more intelligent than right-handers but we do tend to be more creative.

And you’re wrong: the rule about not reviving old threads is not hard-and-fast in this forum. WHen there is already a thread commenting on Cecil’s column, we don’t have a problem with reviving it.
cuban ninja, personal insults are not permitted in this forum. If you want to tell someone to suck eggs, you go to the forum called the BBQ Pit and start a new thread. When someone insults you outside the Pit, you do NOT insult back. Instead, you hit the REPORT BAD POST button (the little exclamation point [ ! ] in the upper right corner of the post.) That will call the moderator’s attention to the person making the insult, and leave you in the clear. When you insult someone back, then you’re both at fault.
As someone intimately connected with the slivovitz industry, I demand you take back the insinuation that the drink is lesser than scotch. Slivovice is an important drink to the farmers of Eastern Europe, where many houses have their own recipies and have been making it themselves for hundreds, if not thousands of years. It is a drink with all the characteristics and subtelties of wine and a bite that will make you glad you’re still alive.
That said, don’t drink the Armenian stuff - it will eat through lineoleum. The Hungarian stuff is pretty strong too.
Of course, that’s generally all you can get at the corner store, so maybe you just want to wait for the scotch…
