Why Do My Mail-Order Contacts Have Foreign Packaging?

I do not live in Japan.

But the discount contact lenses I buy off of the Web come with Japanese labeling.

I’m assuming there is some grey-market explanation for this (they’re not expired or anything).

But how does this work/why is it advantageous for the vendor/how do they get ahold of/divert large numbers of contacts that were intended to be shipped to Japan?
