I sell books on half.com, and have run across this a couple of times…a message from the buyer asking that I not enclose a receipt for the purchase.
What gives? Just curious. I can only think that it is a gift, or that they are doing it for some tax reason. (For instance, maybe they will write it off as costing the retail price? I dunno…)

it’s for gift reasons.
I buy stuff and have them send it directly to my friends.
When I was taking parcels to the Post Office, employees would ask if the box contained any notes, or even receipts. (Apparently not allowed under Media Mail.)
Maybe they don’t want to get hit with mail fraud - although it seems more likely you’d get charged rather than the recipient.
I buy TONS on half.com!
