I’m definitely not the whitest white person ever, and I had no idea what this is. I think you’re quite mistaken in thinking that everyone will know what that was.
I work with people from all over the world, and it’s quite common at my workplace to comment on others’ food at lunchtime - hell, half the conversation involves food, anyway. You never know what you’re going to see when you walk into the break room. I’ve seen my coworkers eat everything from menudo to dolmas. I myself have been known to bring pupusas (Salvadoran tortillas stuffed with beans, cheese or pork) and the occasional bento box with rice and Japanese chicken curry. I still remember the day one lady brought in a 40 lb. jackfruit and cut it up for several people to share. I wish I’d taken pictures. The time another coworker brought balut, not so much.
Aaaaaaahhhhh, it happened again right when I clicked over to this thread! Mr. Horseshoe was good enough to stop at Kuby’sand pick up some of their delicious Italian bread. I brought a slice back with me after lunch to enjoy at my desk as a little snack. That’s right. A slice of bread. No, I don’t want anything on it. I’m enjoying the bread itself, because it’s good bread. I got two bites into it before I hear “OMG, are you just having a slice of bread??!!?11??” behind me.
