Heh, I came to post Maru too.
My cat also sleeps on my backpack or my laptop bag. The moment either of them go down on a flat surface, she’s curled up on them. Could it be size - they’re roughly kitty-sized and that could be related to something in nature? Texture too, maybe: they may prefer a canvas surface due to its heat capacity.
