Bristol, England is commonly known as Brizzle by locals, but the nickname is hardly used outside the city. Which isn’t ever really called ‘The City’. People would probably assume London if you said you were going to the city without clarification. Maybe some of the small satellite towns call it the city, but I doubt it, due to the nearby presence of other cities.
So how do you pronounce that, anyway?
