In the Moral Majority 80s, there was a cartoon called GI Joe. A villainess named the Baroness played a significant role. She had red lips, good looks, a curvy figure, wore a black leather catsuit, boots, gloves, schoolmistress glasses, & spoke with a rather sultry Eastern European accent.
In other words, an Eastern European Schoolmistress/Dominatrix appeared on a kids cartoon.
How the Hell did they get away with this?

My favorite bit was in the opening panel of “Mickey Rodent” where Horace Horsecollar was being hauled away by Walt Dizzy’s storm troopers for failure to wear white gloves! (“And it’s so hard to find these three-fingered ones!”)

I feel compelled to point out that many species of ducks do, indeed, have phalluses. Granted, they’re retractable, and they lose them and regrow them every year, so at any given time Donald may not have an external phallus. But the possibility exists.
Also, a species of duck possesses the largest known avian phallus. 42.5 cm. Cite(warning: graphic duck penis). God, I feel dirty now.

The “Moral Majority” was never a majority. Many young parents of 1984 had undoubtedly seen a real,* whip-snapping dominatrix on TV in their childhoods, so why would they be shocked?

I really think that that is nothing compared to suggestions of incest in the cartoons. Petunia Pig, Porky’s girlfriend, was originally shown to be his…sister!
- One may wonder why no fuss was made of this apparent promotion of miscegenation in the cartoons. Wasn’t there a huge amount of opposition in those days?

I have a carton of Disney dried fruit (similar to a little raisin box) that has a Donald Duck comic on the back. On the front is a single panel of Donald with a ‘shocked realization’ look on his face, and he’s saying “I forgot to wear my pants again!”
So really, he’s just very very forgetful.
I thought that Disney characters ***had ***no no-no’s. Isn’t that part of their definition?
