Why Don't Adults Fall Out Of Bed Like Children Do?

Glad this thread is still here because I coincidentally came across a tidbit of statistics – A 1997 book called Danger Ahead has a figure of half a million Americans go to the ER each year for injuries sutained from falling out of bed. (The figure does not mention if it’s chidlren or adults though.)

So, is there a difference between adults and children?

Why do we fall out of bed at all?

Oh, crap. My dad’s on CEPAP to combat his sleep apnea, and I move around so much in my sleep that I wake up on the floor most mornings.

Well? Is there a connection?
