Why Don't Police Uniforms have emergency pull handles?

Ok, i’m not sure what they’re called but i’m talking about the handles on military uniforms used to pull injured soldiers quickly out of the fray.

I think they’re on their bullet proof vests, but I could see how they’d ne useful on their day to day uniforms.

To perserve the clean lines of the uniform?

my WAG: so the ‘perp’ doesn’t have a handle to grab the cop by.

Soldier = hanging out with buddies with bad guys far away
Cop = on your own with bad guys up close and personal
Handy carrying handle = bad idea for cop

Also, take note that the ties worn are of the clip-on variety, for similar reasons.
And think how many drunks would want to pull that handle to see if a parachute might pop out of the poor cop’s forehead…

Well, guess thats answered.

Thanks guys.

Quite right; this is one reason motorcycle cops don’t wear full-face helmets – it’s a really bad place to give a perp that kind of leverage.

Besides, you ever try to eat a donut wearing one of those things?
