I don’t necessarily think the OP was homophobic. The only thing we have is #3: You are both gay and like licking balls.
Well…ok. Strong argument there. It’s kinda like saying “you both are Jewish and like celebrating Hanukah!”
As far as insults go, I can probably think of worse ones than that. Probably.
This I strongly agree with. For France and Germany to openly declare opposition to the U.S. stance merely gives Saddam aid and comfort. Far better if they were to publically issue stern warnings of dire repercussions for Saddam’s consumption and to voice their misgivings in private.
[major quibble] Why are we arguing over the purpose of inspectors, anyway? Inspectors inspect. That’s what they do! They’re NOT intended to be a friggin’ search and destroy agency. By changing the inspectors’ responsibility from reactive to pro-active, the onus has also switched from Saddam’s cooperation to the inspector’s demonstration of proof of proscribed weapons.[/major quibble]
Oh, BTW, I quoted the only coherent, semi-intelligent part of this rant. The rest was so badly garbled on my computer; in any case I’m pretty sure it’s meaningless.
George Bush is leading this country on a sleighride to hell and I thank Germany and France for pointing out the fact.
Bush can’t find Osama and like any drunk in a bar, he just wants to punch the next asshole who walks into his bar to make up for that fact.
Yes, Sadam is an idiot, dangerous and a dictator…but there are a lot of others in the world as well. I would be more inclined to kick some ass in North Korea…but it would take too long to get the ships away from Iraq, so I guess Bush’s foreign policy - based on his vast experience at playing the board game “Risk” in college - has shown him that it is more important to bash the nearest foe, regardless of world opinion.
Luckily for Bush, there are a bunch of drunks in the bar who agree with him…we call them brain dead Republicans.
I love it title of the OP, it’s so matter of fact. “France and Germany can most certainly lick my balls, and here’s why…” :D.
Apart from that well, uhh, yea, I had very pleasant stays in both countries and wouldn’t wish involuntary ball-licking on either one :).
Oh yes, what a keen grasp of geo-political alliances and power you have there. FYI Germany and France do NOT constitute world opinion. Britain, Italy, Spain and Australia appear to support our view of the Iraqi situation; Kuwait has already allowed our force buildup, Turkey appears likely to allow the use of staging areas for force deployment. This would hardly seem to support your indictment of Bush as a belligerent bardrunk.
As to your clever quip “I would be more inclined to kick some ass in North Korea…”, NOW who’s being belligerent? North Korea, unlike Iraq, already is believed to possess nuclear weapons, well within range of Seoul, South Korea and the 37,000 American soldiers caught inbetween who are currently part of maintaining the peace in the DMZ. How foolhardy are you?
I saw a political cartoon on CNBC last week, didn’t catch the paper/cartoonist. Here’s the gist: caption reads (paraphrasing) “Exhibit A for eliminating Iraq weapons program”. The cartoon shows a grinning Kim Jung Il holding a (nuclear)pistol to Bush’s back while he picks Bush’s pocket. Most apt. Our options are restricted in dealing with North Korea due to the nuclear element. A nuclear armed Saddam would take international extortion to a frightening level.
Sorry, I know that bar you frequent has poor lighting, but them ain’t Republicans. The ones you hear in the back gathered around the player piano, tripping over “It’s The Same Old Song” are Democrats. Sure, their caterwauling cries are more than drowned out by the persistence of the raised voices and sober reflections of the regular clientele, but it does render the establishment an unearned black eye. You’d think the drunks who own a substantial part of the enterprise would be more interested in the long-term health and vitality of said establishment. Funny how mesmerizing the tinkling ivories can be.
Ah yes, the Republican barfly has arrived.
Welcome, NaSultainne.
With regards to: “Britain, Italy, Spain and Australia appear to support our view of the Iraqi situation; Kuwait has already allowed our force buildup, Turkey appears likely to allow the use of staging areas for force deployment.”
I guess you mean Tony Blair (despite every public opinion poll in Britain) and the other lukewarm support by the countries you listed (also with no public support).
Not a single country has polled in favor. Even a lot of polls in the US are against it.
I don’t doubt for a minute that Sadam is an enemy of the US, but that doesn’t give Bush free reign to go in and bomb the fuck out of the populace of Iraq.
Where is the proof? Come on…show me a nice 35mm photo from a Stealth bomber showing nuclear warheads, have the CIA cough up some sites, get a German shepard to whiff a chemical, give me a nice 8x10 of Osama and Sadam spooning in bed.
Anything.
But just because Sadam is an asshole, dictator, enemy of the US does not give us the right to blow the country to smithereens.
We didn’t do it to Cuba. We didn’t do it to East Germany. We didn’t do it to Chile.
Oh, I forgot…back then we had Presidents who could look at the big picture and figure out alternatives to “bomb the fuckers.”
I can’t speak for Italy and Spain, but in Britain and Australia it’s arguably the leadership that supports that view. The general public is hugely divided at best.
The general population of New Zealand aren’t too sure of the merits of the Iraq conflict-to-come, either. I hope this doesn’t come down to “If you’re not with us, you’re against us” kind of drivel.
Well, France and Germany don’t represent world opinion. Let’s toss in Russia and China, then you’re getting closer to “world” opinion.
If Bush has such a smoking gun that shows “proof” of wmd, why the hell doesn’t that convince at least a quorum of world players instead of just England and Australia.
It’s painful to support any part of an OP as immature and bigoted and thougtless as this one.
However, after the US, Britain, Australia, et. al. liberate the Iraqi people from their fascistic government, and when all the WMDs abd the nuclear program are confirmed, the world will know that Saddam’s defeat forestalled a much worse war. Germany and France will be mighty embarassed (as will a few posters here.)
