Why Grant's Tomb?

Why is this tomb called Grant’s tomb anyway? Was it some sort of a land grant or something like that?

… Is this a joke? Am I seriously being whooshed? Or could you not take ten seconds to look online? I double-checked, and indeed the very first links tell you the answer in the short description.

Sigh. It has the bodies of President Grant and his wife.

No, you’re being jinxed!

Whoops. Didn’t see that the OP had already posted the link.

Did you click the link in the OP?

Which is much worse!

The most important question is: who’s buried in it?

I did, but I saw it as a serious question with a silly joke alongside.

Probably some guy name Rushmore.

Technically, it should be called Grants’ Tomb, as it contains both Grant and Mrs. Grant.

The Unknown Soldier?

Or Paterno.

Didn’t he invent the Sloppy Joe?

Idiots. It’s Count Rushmore!
Joe

The Who isn’t buried anywhere, they’re not even dead yet!

Shouldn’t that be “entombed in it”?

Keith Moon is. (Deader than the toilets he used to blow up)

So is John Entwistle. So that have of 'em.

That should be “that’s half of 'em,” not “that have of 'em.”

Two mistakes in one sentence. Grrr.

Cite? I’ll need a disinterment order and old dental records, please.

And while we’re on the subject, is Khufu really buried in this famous tomb ?
