Not everyone knows that Grant’s tomb has three levels. There are two underground levels, with an elevator running between them.
I know this because a friend of mine helped install the elevators. He was down in the lower level working on installing the faceplace for the UP/DOWN buttons. He only needed one and realized that it wasn’t in his toolkit. He turned around and encountered a short, stocky man with a beard who was glowing slightly.
He said, “Wow. Are you a ghost?”
The figure said, “Yes. As a matter of fact, I am the ghost of Ulysses Grant. May I be of assistance to you?”
My buddy said, “Great! As long as you’re Grant’s, get me an UP.”
