Yeah, it’s about that time, isn’t it? I disagree with the mods and think they’ve made a shitty call, but moderating this place is like herding cats and I never signed up to be a cat herder. That’s what the mods have to do, and I’d rather poke my eyes out than do the job myself. Rule #1: You must be minimially civil in the discussion. badchad cannot adhere to that pretty simple rule – my standards for civility are not all that high – and therefore I don’t discuss my faith with him. Which means I don’t discuss anything with him, because as a complete one-trick pony, he quite literally doesn’t have anything else to say. Of course, seeing how close you can come to the line - deliberately - is jerkish behavior, so I would probably be warned. Why the person in question gets away with it has already been hashed over enough. He is going to be allowed to get away with it until he steps over some poorly defined line.

Also for a man who is able to twist words as well as you can, I would think you could read them with more precision. I never said there weren’t non-theist who have insulted me, and I have noted a Christian every once and a while who will actually defend me. However, I try to keep a reasonable track of who is who around here and of those who have flamed me thus far I would say I disproportionate amount have been of the Christian variety, as opposed to those like Ogre, Cisco, Pedro, and CarnalK who are helping to hold my end up in this discussion and those like Kalhoun, Redfury, IzzyR, PRR, Godzillatemple and others who have helped me out in the past, who are disproportionately not of the superstitious variety.

It’s actually the name of a character from a webcomic I like, Schlock Mercenary. The character Der Trihs wears red, and has a tendancy to get his arm(s) blown off or decapitated. So, it’s Red Shirt like the high casualty ST security guys ( Kirk, Spock, McCoy . . . and Ensign Smith. Who gets killed ? Guess ! ), but only indirectly. It was the first name I thought of that wasn’t taken.
