Why hasn't Trump pushed back on Cuban?

Anytime anyone comments or tweets anything negative about Trump, he immediately responds, but I have noticed that he has been strangely silent with the criticisms from Mark Cuban. What gives? Does he know he will lose that battle or does Cuban have something on him?

Just think that is such an odd occurrence as normally Trump is so thin skinned.

Mark Cuban: Donald Trump Becoming 'Stupider Before Your Eyes' | HuffPost Latest News?

Trump is a typical bully and coward. He knows that Cuban is superior to him in every way, so Trump will just turtle and hide from him.

Cuban is likely correct about Trump’s lack of net worth, and could probably buy and sell him several times over.

Cuban isn’t part of the political horse race, and fully capable of suing for libel if Trump goes on his usual attack line. He’s a big dog that can piss in the tall weeds, and Trump really doesn’t want to mess with him. Typical bully mentality.

I think Cuban is much, much richer than Trump, and Trump cowers at the thought of richer men.

Anybody can sue for libel. Cuban would undoubtedly be a public figure under the eyes of the law. The standards for defamation are enormously high. What could Trump realistically say about Cuban that could lose him a suit?

Call him a child molester, maybe?

Which coming from Trump, wouldn’t be all that surprising.

Sure, anybody can sue, but Cuban has the resources to do it where many others might not. He could also go on a PR campaign against whatever Trump said. As for what Trump would say, I think it’s pretty clear he’s capable of saying anything regardless of its factual basis in order to advance his cause of the moment, whatever that cause happens to be.

Any lawsuit that Trump would get involved with would carry the risk of Trump having to disclose things that Trump wouldn’t want disclosed. For instance, if Trump called Cuban a liar about the stuff in Cuban’s statement (weak sauce, I know) Trump would have to give evidence it was false. Which ain’t going to happen.

Thanks for the link, Hakuna - I saw this but couldn’t find it again.

That was my guess - Cuban is richer than Trump and can prove it.

See I don’t think it has anything to do with money. Mark Cuban’s net worth (according to Forbes in 2016) is something like $3.2B. Trump (according to Forbes in 2016) is at 4.5B.

And he has made allegations and pushed back against Jeff Bezo’s who has a net worth of $45.2B. And he isn’t in the political arena per se, although I believe he owns the Washington Post.

That is why I was wondering if maybe Cuban has something on Trump. Trump is tied for like #324 worlds richest and Cuban is tied for #527, so that seems like something that he would tweet out that Cuban is a loser, etc. Yet he is strangely silent.

Actually let me step back from that—it not having anything to do with money. It does I suppose because I don’t think Trump has liquidity with easy access to cash. He might be worth 4.5B on paper but not have the liquidity to put $200m into his campaign.

Going through that billionaire list it was a pretty interesting list.

Sometimes it is simply better for one’s image to not respond. It could be a matter of saying “you are full of shit and only worth ignoring.” Responding grants some small measure of heft and credence to the attack. It may be a case of fear and turtling, or it may be prophylactic damage control (a groundless accusation can be as bad as one with merit).

He doesn’t want to offend the ex-pat community in Florida.

Trumps lawyers called Cuban about 12 years ago when Trump and Cuban were on an ABC show. Cuban had said something to the effect “I can spend more than you and never notice the money is gone.” Trumps lawyers called Cuban and demanded he take it back or they’d sue. Cuban said “I’ll show you my bank statement/balance sheet if Donald shows his.” They never called back.

Donald can’t show the world that he’s all talk without revealing that “he’s all talk.”

Great. Shooting a stranger in Times Square won’t stop the idiots but a bank statement will.

When did Trump ever not return anything he saw as an attack in kind? Sorry, I don’t buy it.

So that means Warren and Clinton are inferior to Cuban?

Hey, adaher, let’s stick to the topic at hand. I know you like to bash the Democrats, but start your own thread for that, okay, buddy?

Somehow I read that in Sterling Archer’s voice.

I’m totally okay with that.
