At last, the recognition I so richly deserve! Yes, I am the one who started the whole “liberalism” canard. I was coked out of my mind one weekend and rewrote my American Government curriculum on the fly. I found the most revolutionary, subversive, anti-State document I could get a hold of, and I based my entire class around it. Lo and behold, the kids bought it! And they told their friends about the “New Learning.” Who told their parents. Who told the publishers of textbooks. Soon, the whole world was dragged down into the gutter of Liberalism and Equal Opportunity For All.
Uh, actually, liberal infiltration of the country’s educational system (and it’s concomitant indoctrination of students, for it’s primarily among the young, impressionable and easily enraged that liberalism finds its most willing adherents) began long before you were born.
William F. Buckley’s God and Man at Yale rails about decades of it and that book was published in 1951.
